The purpose of this experiment is to see if its possible to use MQTT to receive GCM like OS notifications.
The experiment uses Paho 1.0.3 (soon to be 1.2.0 NEON) from Paho on the client-side. release for Neon is expected in late May. On the server side, mosquitto is the MQTT broker
this test showcases the following: MQTT service survives app kill, or crash
MQTT service is restarted when connectivity is back on and stopped when connectivity drops
MQTT service survives an package update
MQTT service survives sleep mode of device
MQTT service attempts to reconnects via exponential back-off when broker is no longer available
MQTt service will receive push notifications sent while the device was offline (persistence)
