As a kid, I played many video games, made maps, had fun with Windows freeware, studied history, and cooked Android ROMs. Those interests later evolved into systems, web, and cloud engineering. I presently code in Typescript, Rust, and Go.
I'm a sucker for stories, in any medium, be it films, articles, audio, whatever. My other hobbies include rock music, photography, video games, cricket, and motorsports.
I love using apps that are both humane and playful. I believe that consumer apps will closely resemble video games in the future, and the techniques used to build them will reflect this trend.
I am obsessed with what web browsers can do – especially shifting computation to the client side, augmented with modern edge server-side infrastructure. I dream of building a tool like Unity, but for app developers that enables them to create ambitious apps of the future on the web. To this end, I'm building tiles.run, an app runtime powered by Rust, Yjs, WebAssembly, WebGPU, and Web Transport for crafting ambitious browser software.
