Introduction

Welcome to our BudgetHotelApp [need a name at least] ! This web application is designed to streamline the booking process for our budget hotel and efficiently manage our housekeeping staff.

Planning

  • Project Scope: This web app aims to provide the following features:

    • User-friendly room booking with real-time availability.
    • Secure online payment processing.
    • Worker management, including scheduling, task assignment, maybe with Whatapss communication.
    • A new app for our manual budget hotel management style.
  • Goals: Our primary goals include improving customer experience, optimizing housekeeping operations, and increasing revenue through online bookings.

  • Team: The development team consists of only me, for now.

  • Timeline: The project is planned for completion by Jun 2024 with milestones and deadlines tracked in GitHub's project boards.

Main Functionalities

1. Booking System

  • User Registration: Guests can create accounts and log in.
  • Room Listings: Users can browse available rooms and view details.
  • Booking: Users can select rooms, choose check-in/check-out dates, and make reservations.
  • Payment Processing: Secure payment processing using Payment Gateway, not decided yet.
  • Confirmation: Users receive confirmation emails with booking details.

2. Worker Management

  • Worker Profiles: Housekeeping staff have profiles with their information.
  • Scheduling: Managers can create and manage worker schedules.
  • Task Assignment: Assign tasks to housekeeping staff based on room occupancy.
  • Communication: In-app messaging for staff coordination, thinking of using Whatapps integration.
  • Integration: Integration with the booking system for real-time task assignment.

  • Front-End: Bootstrap or Vuejs
  • Back-End: Laravel
  • Database: mysql
