Requirements
============

Unless you use the included 'build_all.sh' script, you will need at least the 
following prerequisites:
    sdhash sources (tested with 3.3) from http://roussev.net/sdhash/
        configured and compiled
    postgresql sources (tested with 9.2.4) from ftp://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/source/v9.2.4
        configured and compiled

Other prerequisite versions:
    gcc (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5.1) 4.4.3
    g++ (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5.1) 4.4.3
    lsb_release -a

It is recommended to check 'build_all.sh' to check the prerequisites

Installation
============

The recommended way to install is to run the included 'build_all.sh' script.
This script does roughly the following:
    downloads prerequisite packages
    compiles and installs them in the right order (feel free to tweak the 
        configuration here)
    compiles the ssdeep and sdhash plugins (shared libraries) for psql
    installs those plugins to be available for psql server

Otherwise, you will want to clone this repository into the contrib folder of 
your postgres source folder, and then you should be able to run 
'build_sdhash_psql.sh' (currently "make" and "make install" do not work).

Subsequently

To expose the sdhash functions in your database, you'll need to issue the 
following SQL statements:

    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION sdhash_hash(TEXT) RETURNS TEXT AS 'sdhash_psql.so', 'pg_sdhash_hash' LANGUAGE 'c';
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION sdhash_compare(TEXT, TEXT) RETURNS INTEGER AS 'sdhash_psql.so', 'pg_sdhash_compare' LANGUAGE 'c';
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION sdhash_hash_compare(TEXT, TEXT) RETURNS INTEGER AS 'sdhash_psql.so', 'pg_sdhash_hash_compare' LANGUAGE 'c';

    NOTE
    ----
    Use LANGUAGE 'c' (small 'c') instead of LANGUAGE 'C' (capital 'C')
    The list of available/correct LANGUAGE options can be verified using below query (from http://stackoverflow.com/q/12514664)

Usage
=====

sdhash_psql exposes three functions for working with sdhash-based fuzzy hashes: 
sdhash_hash, sdhash_compare, and sdhash_hash_compare:
