A set of tools created to standerdize the processing of iot and cognitive datasets that are generated from the THIM DRI project
The TIHM project embraces the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) approach inorder to improve the health and wellbeing of people with dementia and their carers. Dementia is a serious disorder, with over 850,000 affected in the UK (Prince et al 2013, 2014), costing £23bn annually (Luengo-Fernandez et al, 2010). The research is funded by NHS England and Innovate UK as one of only two IoT ‘Test Bed’ sites.
Launched in 2017, the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is the single biggest investment the UK has ever made in dementia thanks to £290 million from founding funders the Medical Research Council (MRC), Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK. The institute carries out research relevant to all dementias, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, vascular dementia, Huntington’s disease and beyond.
