pretty

Prettify JSON on the command line via STDIN.

Usage

$ echo "{\"hello\":\"world\"}" > file.json
$ cat file.json 
{"hello":"world"}

$ cat file.json | pretty
{

}

Save output to file:

$ cat file.json | pretty > prettified.json

Prettifying JSON from the clipboard

1. Select and copy the minified JSON
2. On the terminal, type pretty
3. Paste the minified JSON

Example:

$ pretty
{"hello":"world"}
{
  "hello" : "world"
}
$

Installation

From Source

$ git clone https://github.com/eneko/pretty.git && cd pretty
$ swift build -c release --disable-sandbox
$ install .build/release/pretty /usr/local/bin/

Uninstall

$ rm /usr/local/bin/pretty
