Sends you a WhatsApp message when your child's WisePay balance gets too low

WisePayNotifier

Sends you an SMS message when your child's WisePay meal balance gets low.

You'll need a Twilio account to be able to send the SMS messages.

Usage

1. Register for a GitHub account if you don't have one already (by clicking the "Sign up" button at the top of the page)
2. Get a notification service set up; one or both of the following:
   • Register for a Twilio account if you don't have one already, then find your Twilio account ID, auth token, and messaging service SID.
   • Install the SimplePush app on your Android or iOS device, and make a note of the SimplePush key (displayed in the app).
3. Find the WisePay mID for your child's school
   • Go to the WisePay parent login page
   • Enter your school name in the input box
   • In the address bar, paste the following: javascript:alert(document.getElementById('mID').value)
   • A popup should appear with a number, which is the mID for the school; copy it down.
4. Create a new private GitHub repository
   • call it whatever you like
   • make sure it is a private repo, otherwise other people will be able to see your balance
5. Add your WisePay and Twilio/SimplePush secrets to the repo settings (see the example YAML file below for what to name them - secrets.XXX). You only need either the SimplePush, or the Twilio settings, not both (unless you want notifications from both). You can add multiple SimplePush keys, separated by commas, if you want to notify multiple devices.
6. Create workflow file (note that your phone number should be written in "double quotes", otherwise GitHub might interpret it as an actual number and leave off the leading 0 or +):
