CLHS Loop Examples and Their Iterate Transcription
loop examples in the Common Lisp Hyperspec
There are few examples of using loop under the CLHS loop entry. Instead those examples are spread across a special section devoted to loop, The Loop Facility. Because of loop’s complexity this makes some sense. But it’s inconvenient for those trying to hunt down the use of various clauses. This is made doubly incovenient by the fact that loop’s syntax is ideosyncratic and therefore it’s difficult to understand the use of various clauses by just reading the spec.
In this repo I’ve collected all of the examples of using the loop form, taken from the Common Lisp Hyper-Spec.
Iterate Transcription of CLHS loop examples
Users of CL, needing a powerful, programable iteration fascility should consider iterate, which has a more conventional syntax than loop, and is considerably more powerful, especialy with respect to creating iteration drivers. I’ve included a separate file that transcribes all the loop examples in coresponding iterate examples. Perhaps as a TODO I will also collect the examples from the Iterate Manual. Though, because of it’s layout that would be generally less useful than the CLHS extraction i’ve performed.
