You don't need to know metaprogramming, only give a simple specification of your unit of measurement and all the metaprogramming is done for you. Typical domains covered by this kind of DSLs are arithmetic and conversion of units of currency, distance, time, shares, etc. With this framework you will be able to define such DSLs in a declarative and easy way.
