Why git and open source?
It is because there are many derivatives, additional languages, alternate glyphs, other settings from Bebas Neue. In additon, Some people like to customize the font for their particular ues.
There is a need for common platform to develope and share the result for more usability and quality of the font.
v2.000 is just a numbering. The font name is "Bebas Neue", Style name is "Regular".
v2.000 is a newer version of "Bebas Neue version 1.xxx (2010)"
In v2.000, some glyphs were newly added, some glyphs were improved, some spacing and kernings were regulated .
As mentioned above, Bebas Neue Family (2014) were designed by Font fabric and they made a big contribution to the world use. I appreciate Svet and Fontfabric team very much.
"Bebas Neue Family (2014)" was designed based on the "Bebas Neue version 1.xxx (2010)". Therefore, some part of the design, character set, style name and some setting between the Family (2014) and version 2.000 (2018) are slightly different.
When you use these fonts together, please be carefull.
They have same "Family Name", but they are not same fonts.

Bebas Neue version1.xxx~2.000 are world wide, the most popular font family with all caps released in 2010.
Bebas Neue has been used from by big companies to by startup designers for many projects.
In spite of the fact that Bebas Neue has only Uppercases, it became very popular font for these 10 years.
At the same time, we received many requests for adding lowercases.
To be honest, we had been developing whole new Bebas Neue with lowercases secretly for long time.
Thinner Uppercase from thin to regular weights were redesigned for Pro.
New lowercases were designed to match the Uppercases very carefully.
You can access Tabular figures by using OpenType tnum features.
Almost all European languages are supported by Pro.
One more big thing is... Bebas Neue Pro has Italics!
Please don't use sloped Bebas Neue. Pro has proper Italics!
