How the game works

  • The player can left click a square to reveal it. If the revealed square is a mine, the player loses the game.
  • The player can right click a square to mark it with a flag to help keep track of what squares they think (or know) are mines.
  • Revealed squares show a number that indicates how many mines are located in adjacent squares.
  • The goal is to reveal or flag all squares without revealing a mine.

Here's an example of how a fully revealed cluster might look. Here, 'M' indicates a mine:

-----------------
| 1 | 1 | | |
| M | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| 2 | 3 | M | 1 |
| 1 | M | 2 | 1 |
| 1 | 1 | 1 | |
| | | | |
