LocaleText3 - Solution Code

Demonstrates how to use locale formats for dates, numbers, and currency in the LocaleText app.

Introduction

This app, based on the Basic Activity template, provides text views with string resources in a ConstraintLayout. It includes an image and a floating action button. It also includes localized language resources, strings translated into French and Hebrew, and RTL layout adjustments.

The app converts a date, number, and currency format for the user's chosen locale.

Pre-requisites

You need to know:

  • How to open, build, and run apps with Android Studio.
  • How to switch languages on an Android device or emulator.
  • How to extract string resources and use string resources in the code.
  • How to edit layouts in XML.

Getting Started

  1. Download the code.
  2. Open the code in Android Studio.
  3. Run the app.
