Things you may want to cover:

  • System dependencies

  • Configuration

  • Database creation

  • Database initialization

  • How to run the test suite

  • Services (job queues, cache servers, search engines, etc.)

  • Deployment instructions

  • ... =======

For this homework, follow the walkthrough steps in chapters 1-5 of Getting Started with Rails.

The first 2 chapters are super short and just contain information. Section 3.2 is where the codealong walkthrough begins.

In section 3.2, after you follow the first two steps of the walkthrough, rails new blog and cd blog, run git init. Commit your progess at the end of each section.

When you have completed the homework, push your HW repo up to your github account, and then post an issue to this repo with a link to your completed HW.
