2021-02-25-ML-Python-Used-Car-Price-Predictions

Using data set downloaded from Kaggle where observations were built from used car listings on Craigslist, this project predicts whether a used car price is less than $12,000, and then uses available features to predict this. Decision Tree Classifiers and KNN algorithms were used, and confusion matrices were constructed to evaluate model performance.

2021-03-01-ML-Python-Used-Car-Log-Price-Predictions-Boosting-Bagging-RFs

Using data set downloaded from Kaggle where observations were built from used car listings on Craigslist, this project predicts the logarithm of used car prices using Random Forest regression and Boosting. Key features for model accuracy are also identified.

2021-01-26-MATLAB-GDP-Trends-Up-To-Nov-2020

This project uses large Canadian monthly macro data to examine COVID-19 shocks on the GDP of various sectors in the economy from January 1981 to some of Q4 2021. It visualizes trends, calculates the annualize and year-over-year growth rates, and comments on the impact of COVID-19.

2021-03-27-ML-Python-Segmentation-Clustering-of-UN-Sustainability-Development-Goals

This study uses Principal Component Analysis and clustering methods to identify countries performing poorly towards the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals. It looks at 193 countries and their progression towards these goals. The data set has 32 variables that relate to sustainable development targets.

2021-04-10-Stata-ON-Min-Wage-Policy-DID

This study uses data from the Canadian Labour Force Survey to examine the effects of Ontario's minimum wage hike from $11.60/hour to $14.00/hour on January 1st, 2018 on the employment of young workers in the food and services industry six months before and after the policy change. Difference-in-differences regression was used to estimate its effect on full-time employment.
