This is my personal version that I use to make my projects. It has some modifications and additions, the codes of my projects are in the folders "projects".

Due to the modifications I made, you will not be able to compile my projects in the original version of Manim, so I recommend that you use this version if you want to compile them. I have a course in both Spanish and English that may be of interest to people who want to learn from scratch (even without knowledge of LaTeX and / or Python).

The main modifications that this version of Manim has are:

Configuration to write texts in Spanish.
New predefined colors.
New objects: Brackets and custom brackets (like Brace).
New LaTeX packages added: Sources, chemistry symbols, music, etcetera.
SVG images that I use in my videos.
Export GIF with -i.
Export with custom fps with -kx FPS.
Activate mp4 in high definition using --hd.

Indications.

You probably have to install pydub and pyreadline, install it using pip.

Installing emerald fonts in Linux and MacOS

If you use Mac or GNU / Linux, you will probably have problems with TeX formulas because I use the emerald package, so I recommend that you install them with the following instructions (it works the same for GNU / Linux and Mac, you need to have installed wget):

#  find which directory contains the tex fonts 
mkdir -p `kpsewhich --var-value=TEXMFHOME`
cd `kpsewhich --var-value=TEXMFHOME`

#  download emerald.zip to directory
#  not necessary to use wget, would download manually
wget http://mirror.ctan.org/fonts/emerald.zip

#  unzip, move to correct folders, and remove zip file
unzip emerald.zip
cp -r emerald/. . && rm -rf emerald/
rm emerald.zip

#  next two lines update tex
updmap --enable Map emerald.map
texhash

Enable the use of Tikz in MacOS

Some of my animations use the Tikz package and LaTeX pgfplots, but in MacOS the conversion of .dvi to .svg when using these packages is not complete, so it is necessary to force that conversion. The first thing you need is to locate the libgs.dylib file, this you can do by typing in the terminal:

sudo find / -name "libgs.dylib"

You enter the password of your user and will look for it, in my case it is:

/usr/local/Cellar/ghostscript/9.26_1/lib/

If you do not have it installed, you can install it with brew install ghostscript.

Once this is done, open the manimlib/utils/tex_file_writing.py file and line 88 enables the following command:

"--libgs = '/usr/local/Cellar/ghostscript/9.26_1/lib/libgs.dylib'", # Enable this line with the directory pf libgs.dylib

Change /usr/local/Cellar/ghostscript/9.26_1/lib/libgs.dylib to the directory that you have.

Manim personalizado

Esta es mi versión personal que uso para hacer mis proyectos. Tiene algunas modificaciónes y adiciones, los códigos de mis proyectos están en las carpeta projects.

Debido a las modificaciones que hice no podrás compilar mis proyectos en la versión original de Manim, por lo que recomiendo que uses esta versión si es que quieres compilarlos. Tengo un curso tanto en español como en inglés que puede ser de interés a las personas que quieran aprender desde cero (aún sin conocimientos de LaTeX y/o Python).

Las principales modificaciones que tiene esta versión de Manim son:

Configuración para escribir textos en español (prueba con utf8 o latin1 en "tex_template.tex")
Nuevos colores predefinidos.
Nuevos objetos: Brackets y paréntesis personalizados (similares a Brace) etcétera.
Nuevas paqueterías añadidas de LaTeX: Fuentes, símbolos de química, música, etcétera.
Imágenes SVG que utilizo en mis videos.
Exporta a gif con -i
Espeficifa fps con -kx FPS
Activa mp4 en alta definición usando --hd.

Indicaciones.

Probablemente te falte instalar pydub y pyreadline, instálalo usando pip.

Instalación de las fuentes emerald en Linux y MacOS

Si usas Mac o GNU/Linux, seguramente tendrás problemas con las fórmulas TeX porque uso la paqueterìa emerald, así que te recomiendo que las instales con las siguientes instrucciones (funciona igual para GNU/Linux y Mac, necesitas tener instalado wget):

mkdir -p `kpsewhich --var-value=TEXMFHOME`
cd `kpsewhich --var-value=TEXMFHOME`
wget http://mirror.ctan.org/fonts/emerald.zip
unzip emerald.zip
cp -r emerald/. . && rm -rf emerald/

Habilitar el uso de Tikz en MacOS

Algunas de mis animaciones utilizan la paquetería Tikz y pgfplots de LaTeX, pero en MacOS la conversión de .dvi a .svg cuando se usan estas paqueterías no es completa, por lo que es necesario forzar esa conversión. Lo primero que necesitas es ubicar el archivo libgs.dylib, esto lo puedes hacer escribiendo en la terminal:

sudo find / -name "libgs.dylib"

Ingresas la contraseña de tu usuario y lo buscará, en mi caso es:

/usr/local/Cellar/ghostscript/9.26_1/lib/

Si no lo tienes instalado, lo puedes instalar con brew install ghostscript.

Una vez hecho esto abre el archivo manimlib/utils/tex_file_writing.py y la linea 88 habilita el siguiente comando:

"--libgs='/usr/local/Cellar/ghostscript/9.26_1/lib/libgs.dylib'" , # Enable this line with the directory pf libgs.dylib

Cambia /usr/local/Cellar/ghostscript/9.26_1/lib/libgs.dylibpor el directorio que tu tengas.
