-requests to /secure results in a 302 response which cannot be handled as the redirect is done
transparently; ajax calls result in cross domain restrictions; must ultimately have separate pages
for secure (UNL students, staff, faculty) and non-secure (guest, visitors) users

Known issues outstanding:
-Data source is not working (several alternatives were tested,
none worked, sticking with the JDBC fallback
-log4j appears to be configured correctly, but is not respecting the fycp.log file
(all logs are going to server.log), whatever.
