Are certain taxa (phyla – family?, gram-positives vs. gram negatives) more or less variable than others?

A. CV of each taxa for each body of each individual
a) compare means for each body site and identify stable/variable taxa
b) are these consistent between gender? Across universities? Etc.
To easily compare taxa summary tables with any of the otu table processing code in QIIME you can summarize_taxa.py and then convert_biom.py on the resulting files.
