Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 2.25 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1.25 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 egg yolks
- 8oz semisweet chocolate bar
Step-by-step
- Whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, salt, and sugar together in a large bowl.
- Melt the butter in a bowl. Add the vanilla extract to the butter.
- In a seperate bowl, whisk the eggs and egg yolks.
- Slowly whisk the eggs into the melted butter mixture (be sure not to cook the eggs).
- Pour the egg and butter mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix by hand until a consistent dough is formed.
- With a knife, roughly cut the chocolate bars into 1/8 inch squares. Mix the chocolate into the dough.
- Form golfball sized egg-shaped balls of the dough, roughly 3-4 tablespoons in size.
- Cover and refrigerate for 24-72 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 350F.
- While the dough balls are still cold, cut in half with a knife.
- Place each dough ball half on a parchment lined baking sheet with the flat side facing down.
- Bake for 18 minutes.
