QML ToolTip

A simple tooltip system for qml.

Usage

An example is provided in main.qml. It can be run with the command:

qmlviewer main.qml

qmlscene main.qml

Attach a ToolTipArea to each container you want to have a tooltip.

A message can be specified by using the text property of ToolTipArea.

Examples

Simplest

Rectangle {
    width: 50
    height: 50
    color: "#ffaaaa"
    ToolTipArea {
        text: "This is a tool tip"
    }
}

Custom placement

Rectangle{
    id: thingWithToolTip
    width: 50
    height: 50
    color: "#ffaaaa"
    ToolTipArea{
        tip {
            text: "This is a tool tip with custom placement"
            x: thingWithToolTip.width + 10
            y: thingWithToolTip.height/2 - tip.height/2
        }
    }
}

Custom delay and placement

    id: thingWithToolTip

    color: "#aaaaff"
    ToolTipArea {
        showDelay: 0
        hideDelay: 1000
        tip {
            text: "This is a tool tip with custom delays"
