phalcon php extension is currently downsizing for php 8.0, by not developing zephir compiler for it. Some phalcon functions still depend on a fast implementation as a C extension. This is good. Extension phix, is a non-zephir implementation of core functions which greatly benefit from a C-extension implementation.
