It's not difficult to set everything up but it does require editing a lot of configuration files. It does NOT work out of the box. This installer automates the setup and configuration process. This 1 hour video helped me get the correct configuration.
It has been tested on a virtual machine running Debian 10. The UPS is physically connected on the ESXi server. A USB controller v2.0 and a USB device have been added. This is my specific setup but it could easily be your computer with the UPS connected directly via USB.
