Docker Kafka Kraft

Apache Kafka Docker image using using Kafka Raft metadata mode (KRaft). In KRaft the Kafka metadata information will be stored as a partition within Kafka itself. There will be a KRaft Quorum of controller nodes which will be used to store the metadata. The metadata will be stored in an internal Kafka topic @metadata.

IMPORTANT: THIS IMAGE IS ONLY VALID FOR TEST PURPOSES AND NOT PRODUCTION USE.

Getting Started

$ docker pull moeenz/docker-kafka-kraft
$ docker run -e KRAFT_CONTAINER_HOST_NAME=kafka -e KRAFT_CREATE_TOPICS=topic-a,topic-b,topic-c -e KRAFT_PARTITIONS_PER_TOPIC=3 moeenz/docker-kafka-kraft

• Now you can reach the container at localhost:9093 on your host machine or inside Docker network with hostname kafka.
• Comma seperated values received by KRAFT_CREATE_TOPICS env will be used to create topics at startup time.
