Angular (v4.x) Training

This repository stores all the supported exercises and artifacts crafted during my Angular, JavaScript and TypeScript training sessions.

From Setup to Deployment, it covers examples about Components, Directives, Services, Forms, Http Access, Authentication, Optimizing an Angular App with Modules and Offline Compilation and much more...

ng4-training project uses the Angular CLI toolset to create the application skeleton and features a complete project, which allows you to practice the things learned!

Development server

Run ng serve for a dev server. Navigate to http://localhost:4200/. The app will automatically reload if you change any of the source files.

Code scaffolding

Run ng generate component component-name to generate a new component. You can also use ng generate directive|pipe|service|class|module.

Build

Run ng build to build the project. The build artifacts will be stored in the dist/ directory. Use the -prod flag for a production build.

Running Unit tests

Run ng test to execute the unit tests via Karma.

Running End-to-End tests

Run ng e2e to execute the end-to-end tests via Protractor. Before running the tests make sure you are serving the app via ng serve.

Features!

ng4-training is a web app meant to cover much more areas than a simple Hello World app (search, pagination, validation, auto-complete, etc.).

  • TypeScript
  • Webpack
  • Responsive layout
  • High resolution
  • Bootstrap 4 CSS Framework
  • Sass
  • Angular
  • [???] jQuery
  • [???] Charts (Chartist, Chart.js)

About the generated code

This project uses the following technologies/frameworks:

  • Angular 4.x web framework: we try to always use the most recent version
  • Angular CLI a Command Line Interface for Angular.
  • TypeScript: much easier than JavaScript...
  • PrimeNG: Angular components library, we leverage file upload, auto-complete, calendar, tri-state checkbox, server-side pagination, etc.
  • Angular Material: Material Design components for Angular apps
  • Augury - A Google Chrome Dev Tools extension for debugging and profiling Angular 2 applications.
  • Codelyzer - A set of tslint rules for static code analysis of Angular TypeScript projects.
