OS Updates

Before doing anything else, update your operating system by running these two commands:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

Prerequisites

Add the NodeSource APT repository for Node 16

curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_16.x | sudo -E bash &&
sudo apt-get install nodejs -y

Install NGINX

NGINX server and the SSL configuration requires

sudo apt install nginx -y

Check Status of NGINX (optional)

sudo systemctl status nginx

Configure NGINX

cd /etc/nginx/sites-available/ &&
sudo nano n8n.conf

Now insert a copy of the below example configuration and replace

server {
    server_name n8n.domain.tld;
    listen 80;
    location / {
        proxy_pass http://localhost:5678;
        proxy_set_header Connection '';
        proxy_http_version 1.1;
        chunked_transfer_encoding off;
        proxy_buffering off;
        proxy_cache off;
    }
}

Now linking the file we have just created

sudo nginx -t &&
sudo systemctl reload nginx

        env: {
            // N8N_EMAIL_MODE: "smtp",
            // N8N_SMTP_HOST: "smtp.gmail.com",
            // N8N_SMTP_PORT: "465",
            // N8N_SMTP_USER: "admin@admin.com",
            // N8N_SMTP_PASS: "password",
            // N8N_SMTP_SSL: "true",
            N8N_PROTOCOL: "https",
            TZ:"Asia/Kolkata",
            GENERIC_TIMEZONE: "Asia/Kolkata",
            N8N_USER_MANAGEMENT_DISABLED: true,
            N8N_BASIC_AUTH_ACTIVE: true,
            N8N_BASIC_AUTH_USER: "admin",
            N8N_BASIC_AUTH_PASSWORD: "password",
