Installation (Ubuntu)

(Tested on Ubuntu 10.04 & 11.10)

Node.js

$ sudo wget http://nodejs.org/dist/v0.6.18/node-v0.6.18.tar.gz
$ sudo tar xvzf node-v0.6.18.tar.gz 
$ cd node-v0.6.18
$ sudo ./configure	
$ sudo make
$ sudo make install

Check node.js install :

$ node -v
> v0.6.18

Check npm install :

$ npm -h

Should output npm help.

MongoDB

 $ sudo apt-get install mongodb
 $ sudo npm install mongoose -g

Redis

$ sudo wget http://redis.googlecode.com/files/redis-2.4.15.tar.gz
$ sudo tar xvzf redis-2.4.15.tar.gz
$ cd redis-2.4.15
$ sudo make
$ sudo make install

Launch Redis server daemon :

$ ./src/redis-server 

Checkout Battle-Arena

Requires Git

$ sudo apt-get install git-core

$ sudo git clone https://github.com/adrienschuler/Battle-Arena.git
$ cd Battle-Arena

Install NPM dependencies

$ sudo npm install

Import database

$ mongoimport -d battle_arena -c users --file db/users.json
$ mongoimport -d battle_arena -c characters --file db/characters.json
$ mongoimport -d battle_arena -c spells --file db/spells.json

Launch Battle Arena

$ node index.js

Go to http://localhost:3000/ !

Running tests

Selenium

Download Selenium server :

$ sudo wget http://selenium.googlecode.com/files/selenium-server-standalone-2.24.1.jar

Launch Selenium server daemon :

java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.24.1.jar

Run Selenium test suite :

$ ruby Battle-Arena/test/selenium.rb
