Modbus, ESPHome, ESP-IDF and MQTT

Considering buying a lot of these chips for a commercial Modbus application I am working on.
The installation has to be through ESPHome with ESP-IDF (since Im using MQTT with encryption).

I already have a useful code working with ESP32 and a TTL unit. Would the T-CAN485 also work ?
Are there any caveats to look out for ?
