HostBot: your Wikipedia robot friend
HostBot is a set of Python scripts that performs repetitive tasks on and for the Wikipedia Teahouse. HostBot is run by Jonathan Morgan, and is hosted on Wikimedia Labs. Hostbot is written in Python 2.7 and makes use of the MediaWiki API and the wikitools Python framework.

Functions
Talk page invitations
Posts templated invitations to the talk pages of new Wikipedia editors. Currently it posts invitations to visit the Teahouse and to play The Wikipedia Adventure game.
Archiving
Archives Teahouse guest profiles.
Activity logging
Logs activity on the Teahouse: questions asked and answered, profiles created, unique visitors.
Featuring
Features recent content in galleries on the Teahouse front pages: recently asked questions, recently created guest profiles, and recently active hosts. Also re-orders the profiles on the Teahouse Host Lounge to feature most active hosts at the top.
Requirements
- Python >= 2.7.9 (due to urllib3 insecureplatformwarning).
