Stay Grabbed and interact

I can't seem to find a way to keep an object grabbed. Context I use and Vive and when I grab with the side button for the object I can pick it up but when I let go it drops. is there a way to set it up as a toggle? so if I grab it, the item will stay grabbed and when I grab again it will let go. I would like to be able to pick up a gun and shoot it without having to hold down the grip is what I'm getting at

On your LeftBaseController / RightBaseController, you should have an XR Direct Interactor, and you can use different "Select Action Trigger" modes to stick or not your objects
