on Ec2 run it using, so that it binds correctly: $ uvicorn main:api --host 0.0.0.0

Can also run it using: $ python3 main.py
$ docker build --tag python-docker . $ docker run -p 8000:8000 --name fast-api-test python-docker
Run with -d to run it in the background (detached) $ docker run -p 8000:8000 --name fast-api-test python-docker
$ docker start fast-api-test $ docker stop fast-api-test
Now can ping the API on 0.0.0.0:8000
