Placed Top 20 at Hack36 2k22. Made under 'Tech against Crime'. SafeYatra is a simple map based web application that tracks current location and further provides routes that have better lighting, wider roads and better locality.
The aim of the project is to help pick safer routes for those travelling between locations at dull hours. Using data like Street light information, location of safe zones (eg- Hospitals, Police Stations, Petrol pumps etc.), location of precarious zones (eg- Liquor stores); the application helps predicting and picking a safer route for those avoiding unnecessary confrontations. Also includes SoS feature if faced with such situations.
