Get Credit for your Tutorials: contribute and redeem Exoscale credit!

Contributing is as easy as this:

  • Fork this repo
  • Add your content
  • Submit a Pull request
  • Get credit when it is merged

Prerequisite

To contribute tutorials to the exoscale user community you simply need a Gihub account.

Fork the repo

Go to exoscale tutorials and FORK the repository.

Add content

Select the corresponding category for your article from:

  • Windows
  • Linux
  • Getting Started
  • ...

and create a new file in the selected directory.

At the top of the file add the following section:

title: Contribute Tutorials
date: 2014-02-10 09:28 +01:00
category: Community
authors: exoscale
tags: community, contribute, tutorials

Where:

  • title: is the title that will be displayed in the index
  • date: date of the article or last modification
  • category: the name in lowercase of the directory
  • authors: list of github nicknames (optional)
  • tags: a list of related tags to the article (max 10)

Then add your content in plain Markdown format. Follow documentation on official Markdown syntax if you do not know about this format.

Test the output

as Github also uses Markdown for displaying pages, just view your page in github to get an idea of the output

Add images

to add images or screenshots to your article, just drop them in png format in the same folder as your article. please assess the rights on the image and/or confidential information on the screenshot before submitting.

Submit your article

To submit your article open a pull request against the main tutorial repository at github

We will automatically be notified and we will review your content, make changes or give feedback if necessary and then accept your contribution for all users to see.

Once the Pull Request is accepted, we will redeem the credit to your corresponding exoscale account. Please provide the email address of your exoscale account in the PR too.
