Befound

Description

This is where you meet your other half. Befound is a dating landing page. It aims at helping you meet and getting to know singles living in your neighborhood or on the other side of the world from your couch. By Samuel Gitimu, October 2023.

Setup Requirements

• Visual Studio Code for development/contribution
• Git
• Node
• npm - the package manager for the Node JavaScript platform

ToDo

• Add header and footer sections to the individual users page/template.

Getting Started

Setting up on local PC

To set up this project for development on your local PC,

1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/Samueelx/Befound.git
   

2. Go inside the directory where the project has been cloned and run this command to install dependencies:

    npm install
   

3. To run the web application in your browser, run:

    npm run dev
   

4. If you wish to view the JSON data being used for the user data on the web page, you need to have installed JSON Server on your PC. To do this, run this command:

    npm install -g json-server
   

5. Start the JSON server:

    json-server --watch ./data/db.json
   

You can then view the json data from your browser by visiting localhost:3000/results.
