Beagleboard and 3G ==================== This script allows you to connect to a 3G dongle from a BeagleBoard. The following packages can be downloaded from http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/repo/ : usb-modeswitch-data usbmodeswitch ppp You can install them by using the following command: $ opkg install usb-modeswitch-data $ opkg install usbmodeswitch $ opkg install ppp After installing the packages, run setup.sh as root. $ sh setup.sh To check if your BeagleBoard has connected to a 3G network, $ ifconfig and check for ppp0. If it gives a valid ip, it means that you have connected to a 3G network. If ppp0 is not present, then you haven't configured the system correctly. Please check if the correct packages are installed. NOTE: Please ignore the output of the auto3g.sh file. Please check whether the package version is compatible with your BeagleBoard. This setup currently works for a TataDocomo3G datacard. Please change the service providers name in Files_to_be_copied/chat.connect file and then run the setup.sh file.
