Modern genetics is a clear example of where data science is already beginning to make huge impacts. However, advances in tools and techniques for data science are rapidly increasing the amount of data available in genomics. It’s in this context that my project comes into play, the objective is to develop classification models which analyze abstracts of medical articles and, based on their content accurately determine the classes of the genes discussed in them using python libraries, machine learning algorithms and NLP processing.
