The main goal of MediaPortal 2 is to provide the best mediacenter software available when it comes to usability, flexibility and extensibility.
Some of features are:
- Watch, schedule and record live TV. We have our internal TVE3 and TVE3.5 provider, but also TVMosaic as alternative provider.
- Play all your videos, movies, series, DVDs and Blu-ray discs.
- Listen to music and radio.
- Enjoy pictures, home videos or create a slideshow.
- All your media is enriched by a huge amount of metadata like thumbnails, covers, posters, logos, fanarts, etc..., which are read from your files or retrieved from the websevices like Fanart.tv, TheMovieDB.com or TheTVDB.
- Watch videos from hundreds of online video platforms using OnlineVideos.
- Stream media, radio and TV to any HTPC / PC or even mobile devices connected to your network locally or over the web.
- User Management for your family: Configure users (eg. kids) and restrict age dependend content and settings
- Use a remote to control your HTPC from your couch.
- Check the weather, news, RSS feeds, and more.
All in the comfort of your living room, on your big screen LCD or Plasma TV or projector. And these are only the basics.
