Matching-3D-Models

In oral and maxillofacial surgery, there is the situation that the lower jaw, the mandible, is partially destroyed, e.g. by tumor or accident, and must be replaced. For this purpose, a piece of bone is taken from the iliac crest. The question now is, which piece is best suited. In addition to the many medical constraints (trauma, vascularization, muscle insertion, access, etc.), one aspect is of great importance: the accuracy of fit. So find the best piece on the iliac crest to replace the mandibular piece.

CodonMachinelearning

The goal of this project is the implementation of a machine learning algorithm, for the taxonomic classification of DNA-sequences based on the codon usage frequency. Therefore the kNN and the Random Forest algorithms are compared to their accuracy and precision. These criteria should be used to determine the suitability of the two algorithms for a potential classification application of DNA-sequences on their codon usage frequency into phylogenetic domains.

infinite_moneky_theorem

Have you heard of the infinite monkey theorem? The theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare.

tags_basel

Tags on walls which damage old buildings are offensive and should be removed. It is hard to track people which do these tags therefore this tool is invented to track tem down using convidence intervals and classifieres to determine if one tag is created from the same person or not.
