SCSS Latex-Org

This is a fork of Stephen Shaw’s https://github.com/stesh/SCSS-FYP-LaTeX with the purpose of adapting it for easy use with Emacs org mode.

See report.pdf for an example of a produced PDF.

Requirements

• xelatex
• emacs
• org-mode

Usage

• Clone the repo :)
• Add the fyp.el file to your emacs init file
• Change your personal info in settings/constants.tex
• Change the directory in fyp.el if neccessary
• Edit your report in report.org
• Export with C-c C-e
• Then hit l l to export to a .tex file

Org-ref

I fully recommend using org-ref to do easy citations.

• Make your bibtex file as normal in the file specified in fyp.el
• Include the bibtex file in report.org using M-x org-ref-insert-bibliography-link (At the end of the file ish)
• load org-ref M-x org-ref
• Make citations using C-c ]

To recompile with bibtex

Compile the report with the following:

xetex report.tex
bibtex report
xetex report.tex

Font

The font is set to “Nimbus Sans L” since Helvetica is hard to get on any kind of Linux. Feel free to change back to Helvetica, you may want to on macOS since it ships with Helvetica but not “Nimbus Sans L”.
