Qolyester version 0.2

  Qolyester is an implementation of the OLSR protocol for the linux platform.
  It is fully compliant with RFC 3626.

  By default, it has support for IPv6 addresses but this can be changed at
  compile time by givin the --enable-ipv4 option to the configure script (see
  INSTALL for more information about compilation and installation of
  Qolyester).

* Prerequisites

  A standard-compliant C++ compiler.  GCC-2.9x won't compile this code
  and no good solution had been found yet.  Use at least GCC-3.0 and
  see the BUGS file for details.

  For the moment, Qolyester is designed to be run on Linux 2.4 and 2.6
  kernels, as it uses the Netlink interface for interface information
  retrieval and route management.  Support for BSDish unices and eventually
  Windows platform is planned though not a priority.

  You are better off using a USAGI IPv6 stack (see http://www.linux-ipv6.org)
  if you want IPv6 support (which is most probably the case) since it is
  more advanced than IPv6 support in vanilla kernels.

  For IPv6, the address on each used interface has to be set up manually
  (e.g. by using the ip command).  If the interface has more than one
  address, one is chosen using a sensible scheme (that may change over
  time...).  You can specify what address to use (it must be set on the
  interface beforehand, though), read the manual page for details.

  IMPORTANT: to avoid problems, remove any additional route regarding the
  interface(s) that Qolyester is to be using to avoid any conflict during
  routing table management.  Nevertheless it is important for IPv6 that
  routes for multicast destinations (ff00::/8) are left as they are, otherwise
  the daemon may be unable to send control messages.

  VERY IMPORTANT: interfaces MUST have a global address with full prefix
  (32 for IPv4 and 128 for IPv6).  For IPv6, interfaces also MUST have a
  link-local address, otherwise they won't be able to forward packets
  properly.

  For IEEE 802.11* interfaces (WiFi), specific parameters have to be
  set beforehand by the user (Channel, SSID, WEP key, etc).  It is
  also STRONGLY advised to set some sensible RTS/CTS threshold, in
  order to prevent broadcast frames containing control messages from
  colliding with unicast frames (in doubt, set it to the smallest
  non-zero value possible).

* Usage

  The --help option spits out a fairly extensive usage description.  The -i
  option specifies the network interfaces to use and is mandatory.

  The various --dump-... options are used mainly for debugging purposes.

  See the man page qolsrd(8) for extensive usage information.

* Virtual interface mode

  If you configure the sources with --enable-virtual, you get an
  experimental version of the project that allows running many instances
  on the same host, whether there are network interfaces or not.  This
  is provided for testing purposes.

* Internals

  For those who are curious, take a look at the DEVELOPERS file in the
  root of the distribution before going anyway further.
