Execution on Mac OSX:
-With Python3 installed, ensure you can Python and pip from the command line:
cd /Users//Library/Python/3.10/bin
python3 --version
python3 -m pip --version
-Ensure pip, setup tools, and wheel are up to date:
cd /Users//Library/Python/3.10/bin
python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip setuptools wheel
-Download PDF-related libraries:
cd /Users//Library/Python/3.10/bin
python3 -m pip install pypdf
-Create a keyword list, with one search term or phrase on each line, and save as a text file. Example: my_keywords.txt
-Run the search.
(if necessary) cd /Users/rdpittm1/Library/Python/3.10/bin
python3 resume_parser.py -p path to PDF directory -k path to keywords file -o path to output directory
Example: python3 resume_parser.py -p ./resumes -k ./my_keywords.txt -o search_output
-Results --Script output will be a .CSV file prepended with the name of the specified output directory, include a numerical sequence, and end with "parsed_resume.csv"
--Example: search_output1672251559.294723parsed_resume.csv
- On MacOS output directory does not work correctly and defaults to the current working directory of the script
