Group Project #Juxtapose!
Juxtapose is a fashion app for urbanites who have decision paralysis when choosing an outfit. It crowd-sources recommendations for what look is best. Unlike other online wardrobe apps, it incorporates a social element.
Users of Juxtapose will be able to:
- Upload images of items in their closet, with the option of adding tags
- Create a "look" by combining clothing items together (i.e. pants, shirt, scrarf, shoes). The "look" will also have the option of adding tags.
- Search for other user's looks by clicking a tag
- Edit a clothing item or look
- Delete a clothing item or look
- Scroll through a "discover" newsfeed page to view looks that other user's have uploaded.
- On this "discover" page, users will also have the option to vote yes or no on a look that other users have uploaded.
Upon opening the application, the Home Page will allow a new user to register with their username and password.
Once an account has been created, you will be able to navigate the site, using the nav bar at the top.
When you click on, "Closet" you will be directed to a page where
- You can upload a new image of a clothing item,
- See all of your uploaded clothing items
- Create a look
When you click on "Add New Clothing Item" you will be directed to a page where
- You can upload an image of a clothing iten
- Add a caption for your piece and
- Add tags for the piece
When you click "Put it in your closet," you will be directed to a page where you can see the uploaded clothing item, which includes the image, caption and the tags that you have assigned it. From here, you can also edit the item or delete it from your closet.
When you click "Edit this Item" you will be able to change the image, caption and tags for this piece.
Back to the Nav bar, when you click on LookBook, you will be directed to a page where you can
- Create New Look
- Create New Clothing Item
- View all of your current looks
When you click Create New Look, you will be directed to a page where you can select items from your closet to add to a look. You will also be able to add a caption and tags to this look. Click "Save Look" to add it to your LookBook.
Once you click "Save Look" you will be directed to a page where you can
- View the look,
- Edit the look (add or delete clothing items from that look, add or delete tags or name of the look)
- Or delete the look.
Back to the Nav bar, when you click on Discover, you will be directed to a page where you can
- View all looks
- Vote on looks
How the tags work: When you click on a tag in the clothing items page, you will be directed to an "inspiration" page that shows other clothing items with that tag and pulls related images from Flickr.

#About Juxtapose was built using Ruby on Rails, Postgresql, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and the Flickr API.
