Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease of the adult, characterized by degeneration of motor neurons in the spinal cord, brain stem and motor cortex. There is no bio-informatic model of ALS.

ALS-biomarkers

It is indeed interesting to know if an ALS patient condition is stable or deteriorating. Until 2018 there was little known biomarkers for ALS. Thanks to analysis of the ALS database PRO-ACT, scientists learned that some common biomarkers may indicate how a patient situation is evolving.

This is a copy of the most accurate submission to Physionet 2016. The goal of the challenge was to encourage the development of algorithms to classify heart sound recordings collected from a variety of clinical or nonclinical (such as in-home visits) environments. The aim is to identify, from a single short recording (10-60s) from a single precordial location, whether the subject of the recording should be referred on for an expert diagnosis.
