I am Venessa Rizack, a first-year student at Lehigh University from Northport, New York. My intended major is Behavioral Neuroscience, and I will be using this page for my data journalism course.
Below is a map of the top 20 locations in the United States to be featured in movies. The rankings are in order of how many films have featured the location, with #1 being the most films. It is very interesting to see that all 20 locations are found in either New York or California; it makes sense, though, considering the volume of movies that take place in or feature shots from these two states.

This infographic shows the distribution of where Lehigh students came from in 2019. The largest percentage of students came from New York or New Jersey, closely followed by the percentage of students from other U.S. states. This percentage is then closely followed by the percentage of students from Pennsylvania. The smallest percentage was of international students, although it is still a relatively large percentage of students. This shows the diversity in students enrolled in Lehigh University in 2019.
Bethlehem, PA Crime Uniform Crime Reporting
This infographic shows the percentages of violent crime versus property crime in Bethlehem, PA, and then shows the breakdown of which types of crimes there were. This data came from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program. The UCR program consists of four separate data collections, and produces annual reports for each of them. This enables law enforcement and the general public to access these data in their communities, and others. This data, (released by the FBI in September, 2019) reflects the year 2018, and is the most recent data available. This shows that there was much more property crime than violent crime, and which specific crimes there were more of. This can be used to help the FBI and law enforcement know which crimes are most common so that they know which types of crime need the most attention and resources in their community.

These data were collected from Lehigh's Health and Wellness Center and Vault Health. These numbers are important to show how many cases are present to identify the trends weekly and cumulatively. As shown in the chart, the week of October 4th, 2020 has had the largest increase in the number of cases since the start of surveillance testing.
