His work has focused around using data science for criminal justice and privacy advocacy and reform, including research around Boston Police surveilling activists and supporting the advocacy around the Massachusetts drug lab scandal

His work focuses information privacy issues, artificial intelligence, and the societal and legal effects of all the new technologies.
