for comparing performance of this app with Rails you can use apache benchmarks(ab)
ab -n <num_requests> -c :
ab -n 1000 -c 100 -t10 http://localhost:9292/?name=ravi
-n requests Number of requests to perform -c concurrency Number of multiple requests to make -t timelimit Seconds to max. wait for responses
It's a pain to restart the Rack server whenever you make any changes
Shotgun manages restarting the server for you , if there is any modification it just restart the server in the background.
$sudo gem install shotgun --no-rdoc --no-ri [no rdoc and no ruby interactive]
$shotgun config.ru $shotgun app.ru
