Pi-Hole DoH Docker Composition

Docker composition for Pi-Hole with DNS over HTTPS.

Installation

  1. Install docker if you haven't already.
  2. Install docker-compose if you haven't already.
  3. Clone the repository or download the docker-compose.yml file.
  4. Modify the .env.example file and rename to .env
  5. Run docker-compose up --detach from the directory you copied the file to and docker should do the rest.

After successfull startup you should see 3 container running. You can check their status with docker ps.

Usage

You should be able to log in to the pi-hole web interface at http://<VIRTUAL_HOST>:8088/admin/ using the WEBPASSWORD defined in the compose file.

Updating

Run the following commands to update the pi-hole container and it's dependencies:

mkdir -p ./var-log/lighttpd
touch ./var-log/lighttpd/access.log
touch ./var-log/lighttpd/error.log
chmod -R 755 ./var-log/
  1. # docker-compose pull
  2. # docker-compose down
  3. # docker-compose up --detach
