Bot for tracking, approving, and denying belt requests for LPU discord.

Requirements

Requires python > 3.8

pip install discord

Bot setup:

Requires priviledged intent members.

Requires auth attributes; Manage Roles, Send Messages, Read Message History.

Requires env var BELTBOT_TOKEN.

Requires access to a json file. You can configure this however you please in the DATA_FILE constant.

To invoke any command, mention the bot :)

Unprotected commands

Making a belt request

@LPUBeltbot request <colour> <anychar> <request text>

Example: @LPUBeltbot request white - Hi I picked a 410 with a toothbrush. My reddit username is /u/theelous3

Example output:

@ theelous3 thanks for your White Belt request!

Listing active requests

@LPUBeltbot list [order]

Order is optional. For order, you can pass oldest or newest. Defaults to oldest first.

Approving a request

As you can see, requests have IDs. You can use this ID to interact with it.

This command will ping the applicant and assign them the requested role. If they gave a reddit username, it will assign flair there too.

@LPUBeltbot approve <request_id> [note text]

note text is optional on approval.

Example: @LPUBeltbot approve 9f542352g718 Nice pick!

@theelous3, @moderatorGuy has reviewed and approved your request. Congrats on your White Belt!

You have also been flaired on reddit :)

Rejecting a request

@LPUBeltbot reject <request_id> <reason text>

You must provide a reason when denying a request.

Example: @LPUBeltbot reject af545352g712 That isn't a lock, it's a beer can

This will ping the applicant and reject the application, like so:

@theelous3, @moderatorGuy has reviewed and denied your request for White Belt.
Notes: That isn't a lock, it's a beer can

Requesting more info

@LPUBeltbot moreinfo <request_id> <reason text>

You must provide a reason when requesing more info.

Example: @LPUBeltbot moreinfo af545352g712 you need to gut the lock in the same take, sorry

Setting a request as under review

This will set you as the reviewer on the request's info.

@LPUBeltbot unreview <request_id>

Example: @LPUBeltbot unreview af545352g712

This will remove any reviewer from the request's info.
