This project is a simple ERC20 token, which is based on openzeppelin templates. It's name is DrogeToken42 and it's symbol is DT42, it has a total supply of 42000 given to the deployer of the contract. Its contract is deployed on the Sepolia test network at the address 0xD0282c45CeC4f69E9e1D822EBe10754D008df423. I've used remix to compile and deploy the contract, and metamask to interact with it.
The reason why I picked the Ethereum ecosystem is because it is the most popular blockchain platform for creating smart contracts. Since I'm on the Ethereum ecosystem, I'm inherently using the Solidity programming language.
Therefore, it makes sense that I'm using ERC20 because it is the de facto standard for creating fungible tokens on Ethereum. This standardization allows DrogeToken42 to be easily exchanged, transferred, and integrated into wallets and other contracts without compatibility issues. Other standards such as ERC721 (non-fungible tokens) and ERC777 (advanced fungible tokens) are also available, but ERC20 is more fitting for this project.
