If you follow hundreds or thousands of people on Twitter, the amount of tweets can quickly overwhelm you. I wrote a bot that monitors the continuous activity of all the people I follow and publishes the 'top hits' on a custom Twitter feed. See here goo.gl/Wte1I2.
This app is Heroku ready, scheduled to update every 10 minutes. You will need to specify your Twitter credentials as part of your Heroku environment.
