Purrfect Companion is an iOS app that helps you find a furry companion at your nearest animal shelter. It uses the Petfinder API to search all registered shelters with cats and dogs availble for adoption. It is home of 261,963 adoptable pets from 12,002 adoption groups.

In order to find animal shelters around you or in other areas you would like to look in, just tap and hold for a second on the map and a pin will drop down. Tap on the pin and you will be shown all the nearest shelters around that general area based on zip code.
Select a shelter from the list of shelters and you will be shown pictures of their cats and dogs. You can also search for a shelter and filter the results by shelter name, location or zip code. Click on one of the pictures and you will get information regarding the pet along with his/her picture. Share it on Social Media!
You can remove certain pictures or use the refresh button to see if new pets have arrived at the shelter.
In order to delete a pin from the main map screen, just tap on edit and tap on the pin to delete.
The project was build using Xcode 7.2, iOS SDK 9.2, and Swift 2.1.1 All you need to do to compile is build and run. The application has been tested on the simulator and physical iOS device(iPhone 6 Plus).
