lock to provide warning when opening a file already opened in another instance of micro

Firstly, micro is a really capable editor. Thank you (everyone involved) for your work!
I am curious to know if there is any kind of lock file or monitoring system in place or possibly planned for the future so that when you open a file in a separate instance of micro it may be able to show a warning that the file is currently being edited in another instance.
If this is a feature which would be considered addition to the project in the future and which is not already implemented please let me know and I can open a new issue requesting such a feature.
From time to time, this kind of feature can be useful.

There is a warning like this in place already:
A backup was detected for this file. This likely means that micro
crashed while editing this file, or another instance of micro is currently
editing this file.
Thank you for your reply. You are correct provided the file has been saved once, then this happens. The behavior was a little different to what I initially expected.
